The Best Wishlist Apps in 2026 for iPhone, Android and the Web
A wishlist is a list of gifts you actually want. You send it to family and friends as one link, and they reserve a gift so two people don't buy the same thing. There are dozens of apps for this, and they differ in details that only show up at the last minute: whether your friends need an account, whether you can see what has already been reserved, whether you can add something from any shop.
Who wrote this. This article was written by the wishdo.io team. wishdo is one of the apps we compare, and we say so up front. The other apps are described from their own websites, help centres and App Store and Google Play listings as of 23 October 2026. Where we could not confirm something, the table says "n/a". Sources are listed at the end.
How we compared wishlist apps
We didn't look at design. We looked at what decides whether the gift works out:
Any shop. Can you add an item by link from anywhere, not just one marketplace?
Reserving without an account. Can a friend reserve a gift without signing up? Your grandmother won't create an account for one present.
Reservations hidden from the owner. If you can see what has been reserved, there is no surprise.
Where it works. iPhone, Android, browser, extension, Telegram.
Secret Santa. Can the same group run a gift exchange?
Price and languages. What is free, what costs money, and which languages the app speaks.

The best wishlist apps for iPhone and Android
wishdo
web · iPhone · Android · extension · Telegram · 28 languages · free
One account on the website, in the iPhone and Android apps, in the browser extension and in the Telegram bot: a wish added on your phone shows up on the website straight away. You add items by link from any shop, with "Share" on your phone, with the extension or with the bot. Every wish has a level (idea, like, want, dream), so friends know what matters most. The owner decides who sees a list: everyone, only people with the link, or only the owner. A reservation protects you from duplicate gifts: friends see that an item is taken and won't buy it twice. Surprise mode hides from the owner what has been reserved, and reserving without an account can be switched on for the whole profile, one list or one wish. If you need several identical things (three copies of a book for the office, tickets, everyday supplies), set the quantity and different people will each reserve their own. The website, apps, extension and bot work in 28 languages, and the name and description of a wish can be translated with the "Translate" button, which helps when relatives live in another country.
Lists for any occasion, a friends feed with upcoming birthdays, and collections of ideas
Pros
Every platform plus Telegram in one account
Wish levels: friends see what matters most to you
Reserving without an account and surprise mode
Several reservations on one wish: set how many you need
Duplicate protection: we warn you if a link is already in your lists
Secret Santa and promise certificates for free
Import and export of wishes as CSV or JSON, both ways
28 interface languages and one-tap translation of wishes
Cons
You need an account to create your own list: sign in with Apple, Google, Telegram or email
Reserving without an account is off until you switch it on
What else wishdo has:
comments on wishes, so a friend can check the size or colour right under the item;
statistics: how many people opened your list and which wishes they save;
reminders about upcoming occasions and when a reservation is about to expire;
a "Giving" section with all your reservations, so you don't forget what you promised to buy;
a private profile: only followers you approve see your lists;
a friend's wish you like can be added to your own list in one step;
on the website, ideas from the brand catalogue and collections if you don't know what to ask for.

A Danish app that is popular in Europe and the US: website, iPhone and Android apps, 12 languages. Reservations are hidden from the owner, though the help centre notes that the owner can see them by opening the list's share link. To reserve a gift you have to sign in. In October 2026 GoWish added Secret Santa: in the app only, for now only in the US, Canada, Australia and the UK, and every participant needs an account. The app is free and earns money from shop affiliate links.
Giftster
A veteran of family gift lists: free, with apps, browser extensions and a Secret Santa draw. What has been bought is hidden from the list owner. Without an account you can mark a gift only on the website and only on a public list. The interface is English only.
Elfster
Secret Santa first, with wishlists to go with it. Free, with a browser button for adding items from any shop; Spanish and French were added in 2026. Sources disagree on whether a giver needs an account to mark a purchase: the help centre says yes, a marketing page says no.
Giftful
A website, iPhone and Android apps and browser extensions. By default you need an account to open a list and reserve a gift. The owner can allow viewing by link and guest reservations. One wish can be reserved by one person.
Things To Get Me
An English-language app with no required sign-up: guests reserve without an account, and reservations stay hidden until the owner opens the section that shows them. There are cash funds, and a fee is charged on them. It also has a free Secret Santa that needs no sign-up.
Amazon Lists
Fine only if every gift is bought on Amazon. You can no longer add items from other shops: in 2023 Amazon shut down the extension that did it. Purchases are hidden from the owner for a few weeks, and only while the owner is signed in. Since March 2026 third-party sellers can ship gifts from a list and receive the owner's address.
A wishlist in Telegram
If your family lives in Telegram, it is handy to collect wishes right there. Send the @wishdoiobot bot a link to any product and it adds it to your wishdo list with a photo and price. In a group chat you can connect a shared collection: friends drop ideas into it and everyone sees what to give for a birthday, a wedding or any other occasion. More in our article about the wishdo Telegram bot.
Where to make a wishlist for free
Every app in the table lets you keep a list for free. Extra features are what cost money, for example the fee on cash funds at Things To Get Me. On wishdo everything is free, including Secret Santa and certificates.
Free apps usually earn money from shop affiliate links, and so does wishdo. On wishdo such a link is labelled "Affiliate link (ad)" right by the button, before you tap it.
How to move a wishlist from another app
If you already keep a list somewhere else or in a spreadsheet, you don't have to type it again. On wishdo you upload wishes as a CSV or JSON file with every field: name, link, price, currency, priority, date, photos, lists. Before adding them, wishdo shows what it recognised, skips duplicates by link and fetches the pictures itself. You can export your wishes the same way at any time: to a spreadsheet, a backup or another app.
How to make an online wishlist and share it with friends
Here is how it works on wishdo. Other apps follow similar steps; the details differ as shown in the table above. You can make an online wishlist on your phone or computer with the same account.
1. Create a list for the occasion
Name it after the event and set a date. If the list is visible to everyone, your followers will see it in their feed among upcoming occasions, next to birthdays. Common occasions have their own pages with examples and tips:
Paste a product link and the name, price and photo fill in by themselves. On a phone it is easier with "Share": open the product in the shop's app, tap "Share" and pick wishdo. On a computer the browser extension does the same, and in Telegram the bot does. If there is no link, add a photo and a few words: that way you can ask for an experience or something handmade. And if the same link is already in one of your lists, wishdo warns you: a duplicate is almost always an accident. Set the wish level (Idea, Like, Want or Dream) so friends know where to start.
A new wish: a link from any shop, a photo from the camera or the gallery
3. Decide who sees the list and who can reserve
A list is visible to everyone, only to people with the link, or only to you. Surprise mode hides from you what has been reserved. If you want people without an account to be able to reserve too, switch on "Reservations without registration". The guest gets an email with a link to cancel the reservation. An unneeded guest reservation is released by itself after two weeks, and you can release it earlier.
If you need several of one item, switch on "Several people can reserve it" for the wish and set the quantity. Each giver reserves their own unit, and the others see "Reserved 1 of 3". Without a limit there is room for everyone.
Left: who sees the list and surprise mode. Right: a friend reserves a gift, and the owner won't know who
4. Send one link
In a messenger, by email or in a group chat. Friends open the list in the browser and don't need the app.
Secret Santa, Promises and the thank-you card
A wishlist settles what to give. But the holidays bring more questions: how to run a gift exchange with a group, what to give when nobody needs another thing, and how to say thank you.
Secret Santa with wishlists
Any generator can do the draw. The hard part comes after: working out what to give and not buying what someone else is already bringing. In Secret Santa on wishdo every participant in the room has a real wishlist with prices, and a reservation doesn't give the Santa away. You can ask your giftee a question (size, colour, "do you already have this?") right in the room, and the answer arrives with no names on either side. Participants don't need an account: the link takes them straight into the room. Anyone who hasn't written their wishes gets an email reminder, and everyone gets a reminder before the exchange. It is free and works in 28 languages, and next year you can bring the same group together in one tap. Our guide explains how to organise Secret Santa online.
A Secret Santa room: budget, exchange date and the giftee's list. Next to it, promises with a code and a link for the recipient
A promise or a certificate instead of a thing
Sometimes the best gift isn't a thing but "breakfast in bed", "a weekend without chores" or money towards a dream. That is what Promises on wishdo are for: a ready-made certificate from more than twenty designs or your own, with an amount or a promise, names, a date and a note. You can send it as a link, print it or add it to your own wishlist as a hint. In Secret Santa you can leave a certificate within the room's budget for your giftee right in the game. Free and without sign-up. More in the guide on how to create a gift certificate online for free.
The thank-you card
When you mark a gift as received, wishdo offers a thank-you card with a photo of the gift and a caption. You can post it to your stories and tag the friend who gave it.
Which app to choose
Parents, grandparents and colleagues without accounts will be giving: you need an app where people reserve without signing up. In the table that is wishdo (once switched on) and Things To Get Me.
You want a real surprise: check that reservations are hidden from you. On wishdo that is surprise mode.
You need several identical things (books for the office, tickets, supplies): on wishdo set the quantity and each unit is reserved by its own giver. On Giftful one wish is reserved by one person only.
Your family is on Telegram: wishdo with the bot and a shared collection in the group chat.
The holidays with a group: Secret Santa where everyone has a wishlist: wishdo, Elfster, Giftster, Things To Get Me, and GoWish in the US, Canada, Australia and the UK.
Friends and family speak different languages: wishdo works in 28 languages, GoWish in 12.
You buy everything on Amazon: Amazon Lists will do.
Frequently asked questions
It is a list of things, experiences and dreams you would like to receive as gifts, usually with shop links and prices so family and friends don't have to guess.
Every app in this comparison lets you keep a list for free. Extra features are what can cost money; the table shows where. On wishdo everything is free, including Secret Santa and certificates.
That depends on the app and on your settings. On wishdo anyone can open a public list or a list shared by link without an account, and reserve without an account if you have switched on "Reservations without registration" for your profile, a list or a single wish. A guest reservation lasts two weeks.
On wishdo, not in surprise mode: friends see that a gift is taken, you don't. The mode can be switched on for your whole profile or for a single list.
That is what reservations are for, and it is exactly the protection against duplicate gifts: a friend marks a gift and everyone else sees that it is taken. In surprise mode you won't know what has been reserved.
On wishdo, yes. Switch on "Several people can reserve it" for the wish and set the quantity, for example three copies of a book for the office or tickets for the whole family. Different people each reserve their own, and once the places run out, reservations close.
On wishdo you can: upload your wishes as a CSV or JSON file. You can export your wishes the same way at any time.
wishdo has iPhone and Android apps, plus a website, a browser extension and a Telegram bot. It is all one account: a wish added on your phone shows up on the website straight away.
