Why a gift actually happens here

Everyone can draw names. The real work starts after: knowing what to give, and not buying the same thing somebody else is already bringing.

A living list, not a «wishes» field The wishlist is already on wishdo.io and lives all year: links to products, prices, how badly it is wanted. Nothing has to be invented for the game — open it and add a couple of lines.
A booking that does not give the Santa away The chosen wish is marked taken for everyone except the recipient: they see their list unchanged and until the very end know neither what they will get nor from whom.
An idea when the list is empty Not everyone gets round to writing what they want. Then the room reminds them by email, and the Santa has ready-made collections for the winter holidays to pick from.

The room

A name, a budget, the exchange day. One link for everyone.

Paste the addresses as a list — the letters go out themselves; or drop the link into a group chat. An account is only needed if the list should stay for later.

Pairs are handed out at once and shown to nobody, the organiser included.

How this differs from an ordinary draw

A draw out of a hat, or a plain randomiser, ends the moment the names are handed out. Everything that decides whether the gift lands happens after.

What people usually ask

They do not have to: following the room link, a person gives their name and writes their wishes without an account. Registration is only useful if they want to keep the list afterwards.
